Modern Slavery Statement
Soho Removals Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Soho Removals has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chains. As a provider of removal and relocation services, we recognise our responsibility to uphold the highest ethical standards and to protect the rights and dignity of all individuals connected to our operations.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Soho Removals maintains a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation. This applies to every aspect of our business, including direct employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers. We are committed to acting with integrity in all our business dealings and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to mitigate the risk of modern slavery.
All managers and supervisors are expected to promote this commitment, ensuring that working practices respect human rights, that recruitment is voluntary and transparent, and that all individuals are free to leave employment in line with applicable laws and reasonable notice periods.
Our Supply Chains and Due Diligence
Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, packing materials, storage facilities, equipment, maintenance services, and labour support. Soho Removals recognises that risks can arise at any stage of these supply chains, particularly where agency labour, subcontracted services, or overseas sourcing is involved.
We conduct supplier due diligence designed to identify, assess, and minimise the risk of modern slavery. Before engaging or renewing suppliers, we expect them to demonstrate that they operate ethically, comply with relevant legislation, and uphold robust labour standards. Where appropriate, we request information on their employment practices, worker protections, and procedures for preventing forced labour and exploitation.
Supplier Audits and Ongoing Monitoring
Soho Removals carries out proportionate audits and checks on existing and prospective suppliers, focusing on higher-risk categories such as labour providers and subcontracted operational services. These audits may include document reviews, site visits where feasible, and structured questionnaires to assess compliance with labour, health and safety, and ethical standards.
If a supplier is unable to demonstrate adequate controls to prevent modern slavery, we will work with them to improve their practices within a reasonable timeframe. Where meaningful improvement is not achieved, or where serious breaches are identified, Soho Removals reserves the right to suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Training, Awareness, and Employee Responsibilities
We are committed to raising awareness among our employees about the signs of modern slavery and how to respond to concerns. Relevant staff receive information and guidance on identifying indicators of exploitation, such as restriction of movement, withholding of documents, or evidence of coercion.
All employees, regardless of role, are expected to support our zero-tolerance stance by speaking up if they suspect that modern slavery may be occurring within our operations or supply chains. Managers have a duty to create an environment where concerns can be raised safely and without fear of retaliation.
Reporting Channels and Escalation
Soho Removals encourages anyone connected with our business, including employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers, to report concerns about potential modern slavery. Concerns may relate to working conditions, recruitment practices, treatment of workers, or any behaviour that suggests coercion or exploitation.
Reports can be made through internal reporting lines or directly to senior management. All reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled as sensitively and confidentially as circumstances allow. We will not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith, and we are committed to taking appropriate remedial and disciplinary action where wrongdoing is found.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Soho Removals recognises that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires continuous improvement. We regularly review our risk assessments, due diligence processes, and training materials to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the nature and scale of our operations.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis, or more frequently if required by changes to legislation, business structure, or identified risks. The review is overseen by senior management, who are accountable for ensuring that the commitments set out in this statement are implemented in practice and integrated into our wider governance framework.
By publishing this statement, Soho Removals reaffirms its commitment to preventing modern slavery and promoting safe, fair, and respectful working conditions throughout its operations and relationships.
